Secondary Schools

Higher Education

The University of Iringa (UoI), owned and managed by ELCT Iringa Diocese, offers comprehensive education from certificate to PhD level, preparing students for leadership and service.

Specialized Training

Ilula Nursing School offers Ordinary Diploma in Nursing, fully registered by NACTE and TNMC, providing quality healthcare education.

Healthcare Services

Ilula Lutheran Hospital

Our flagship healthcare institution serves as the Kilolo District Council Designated Hospital, providing comprehensive medical care to the community.

Palliative Care

We are committed to expanding palliative care services to provide comfort and support for patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Our health programs focus on reducing maternal and infant mortality rates, preventing water-borne diseases, and promoting overall community wellness.

Social Services & Community Development

Huruma Diaconal & Orphanage Centre

A place where we take care of Orphans and Vulnerable Children, giving them a second chance in life through education and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Water Projects

The Diocese helps families, especially women and children, by drilling wells in villages based on community needs assessment. Currently, over 150 wells have been drilled.

Scholarship Program

Through partnerships, we help pay school fees for more than 1,100 students attending secondary education and universities, supporting students from poor families.

Media & Communication

Radio Furaha (96.7 FM)

Our radio station broadcasts 24 hours a day, sharing religious and socio-economic development programs as well as gospel music, reaching communities across the region.

The Lutheran Centre

Our business centre is famous for hosting tourists and groups from Europe and the US. It also serves local experts, researchers, and hosts many conferences and board meetings.

Financial Services & Economic Empowerment

Microfinance Program

Through University of Iringa, the Diocese works with communities to establish Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOS) and AMCOS. Currently, over 35 SACCOS have been registered.

Strategic Goal

We aim to increase financial institutions from 1 to 5 by 2027, improving management information systems and organizational structures to better serve our communities.

Theological Education & Training

Theological Education by Extension (TEE)

Currently, more than 8,000 members have been trained through theological education courses by distance learning. TEE's major purpose is to train evangelists who are crucial for church growth.

Ilambilole Bible School

The school offers special bible courses mainly for Pastoralists around Southern Dioceses of the ELCT and the ELCT at large, strengthening theological foundations.

Strategic Priority Areas (2018-2028)

Mission & Evangelism

Strengthening mission and evangelism to increase Christians from 142,000 to 300,000 by 2027, training 30 new pastors and 1,500 evangelists.

Resource Mobilization

Enhancing resource mobilization and management of financial and non-financial resources at all levels, expanding investment base and strengthening stewardship.

Diaconal Services

Ensuring the role of the church in support to vulnerable groups, improving compassionate services and establishing community outreach programs.

Social Services

Ensuring provision of quality social services including education, healthcare, and community development programs based on Christian values.

Gender & Children's Rights

Strengthening gender equality, children's rights, and good governance, empowering women and men to overcome inequity and oppressive practices.

Strategic Partnership

Promoting strong strategic partnerships with government, community organizations, and international partners to enhance service delivery and sustainability.
